Jeff for America

About Jeff

boyupdated

I am a good friend and kind person. I love to laugh, but love to make other people laugh even more. My family is of the utmost importance to me and I keep them close. As a teacher, I want to gain respect not from fear but from experience. As a person, I want to make this a better world by doing something big and a lot of things small.

I moved to Philadelphia from California last year and started teaching history at a small charter school with middle school students. I love my job, and have grown to love my new home. Although I will likely not be a teacher forever, I want to stick around long enough to get a hang of things. Beyond that, I have no idea what will happen next.

This blog is an attempt to open lines of communication with people I don’t see often enough, but it’s also a way share my persecptive through the people I encounter every day. Part school, part personal, Jeff for America hopefully entertains you. And maybe you’ll relate or learn something new. Whatever the case, enjoy reading. I’m glad to have you.

* The names and identities of students and people at my school have been changed for their protection. Nothing on this blog can be directly attributed to anyone at my school and is only the opinion of myself and the result of my experiences.

    My version:
A teacher in so many ways, happens to now be in the classroom. A best friend and a comedian to many, a soulmate to me.

I love reading your blog. You have a great perspective but an even better way of putting your thoughts into words that mean something. I am glad that you have chosen teaching as a profession for now. Even if it is for a short time, every kid who has you is very fortunate. I love what I do and always will and I hope that you know that the impact you have goes beyond the moment you work with these youngsters. Keep it up!

    Hi Jeffe!!!

Looks like you’re having a lot of fun out there in Philly with all that snow! We’re finally getting a raging storm this weekend in Telluride *fingers crossed* (I say that b/c forecasters have been wrong multiple times this season and getting my hopes up) Anyways, I don’t know if your students would be interested but my friend has a really cool website on Journaling. It’s from a male perspective but for all and explains different types/methods and how to maintain one. Check it out! iheartjournals.com I hope you’re doing well out there, Jeff. I really miss you and can’t wait for when we’ll run into each other again (hopefully sooner than later).

    Love ya much,
    Hongo
