I’d still agree if it was on a gold plated plaque.

At the end of a long day, a little boy handed me a similar piece of paper as well as two hearts cut out of notebook paper. “It looks like you’ve had a hard day, Ms. Loth. Actually, it looks like every day is a hard day.”

That is the paycheck. Nice, thankful kids who find a way to tell you that you are great. I always value my kids opinions over any praise that i have ever received from adults. So thanks. You were one of those kids…

You couldn’t ask for a more objective and legitimate source than one of your own students, Jeff. And the “award” is replete with symbolism in its having been written horizontally on scratch paper with your name misspelled.
