Help!

This is a call for ideas
I unexpectedly have my homeroom students for 4 hours straight tomorrow (because the other kids are testing) and I have no real plans to keep them going the whole time. I want to do something educational that involves watching some type of media, and we need time for a physical activity outside. I may be able to get laptops, as well. Please pass along any good ideas that have worked for you in the past (and keep in mind I will have ~25 seventh graders).
I hope I wake up in the morning, and people have posted any (and I mean ANY) ideas to help me out tomorrow.
You may also email me at: JeffPManassero@gmail.com
Anything!
Thanks,
- Jeff
P.S. I’m not a horrible teacher, just tired and need to go to bed. I do have SOME ideas of my own…
Here are some ideas if you have laptops:
Online scavenger hunt for random facts (i guess it doesn’t only have to be online)
Challenge them to find mistakes on wikipedia
Hi Jeff,
I happened to see your status, which led me to your page, which led me to reading this and compelled to send you an idea…
Last semester for my Legal Issues in the Music Industry class we had to come up with an idea that would quote “help save the music industry.” In short, I created the idea of a non-profit organization that taught the youth about music copyright law, piracy, and music education in regards to artists and the industry.
My teacher really enjoyed the idea, and I got a good response from my fellow peers that the idea needs to be taught at an early age (I used 7th graders as my target market.) Perhaps creating a lesson for them that relates it to current popular music and the current issues?
I will send you an email of my presentation to elaborate.
Hope it goes well either way!
no comments yet; sad.
how about the human knot during the “physical activity” part?
